Resources
Great advances have been made by using mid-infrared technologies (mid-IR) in research labs, universities, manufacturers, hospitals, and on the battlefield. Combining our knowledge and capabilities with that of other scientists, government experts, and industry leaders, IRflex Corporation is striving to reduce optical losses of infrared-transmitting chalcogenide glass fibers by using improved chemical purification and better fiber fabrication techniques. We at IRflex thank our government experts, university and lab scientists, and industrial partners for their collaboration and contributions in helping us to improve our products to the best in the industry.
Collaborations
NRL
Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is the corporate research laboratory for the Navy and Marine Corps and conducts a broad program of scientific research, technology, and advanced development. NRL, with a staff of more than 2,500 researchers, engineers, technicians, and support personnel, has served the Navy and the nation for more than 85 years and continues to meet the complex technological challenges of today’s world.
A suite of patents relating to chalcogenide glass-based fiber optics has been exclusively licensed to IRflex from the Naval Research Laboratory in 2010. These patents, in conjunction with IRflex’s experienced personnel, enable IRflex to find cutting-edge solutions for nonlinear mid-infrared applications. Since 2010, multiple research projects have been conducted together for the advance technology in the defense industry.
